This pendant is known as the Winged Scarab with the Eye of Horus (or Wadjet Scarab Medallion). In ancient Egypt, this iconic design united two of the civilization's most sacred amulets to signify eternal renewal, royal power, and divine protection. The winged scarab beetle is the earthly manifestation of the god Khepri, embodying the morning sun, spontaneous creation, and resurrection, while the Eye of Horus (Wedjat) represents wholeness, healing, and spiritual shielding, rooted in the myth of Horus restoring his eye after his battle with Set. Elaborate pectorals fusing both motifs became especially prominent during the New Kingdom (most famously depicted in the funerary treasures of Pharaoh Tutankhamun), where they were worn by royalty and placed over the heart of the deceased to ensure safe passage, triumph over darkness, and rebirth into the afterlife.
