Muisca Tunjo (or Tunjo Muisca) (PC1017)

Originating and reproduced from the indigenous Muisca civilization of the Colombian Eastern Andes (flourishing roughly between 600 and 1600 CE), Unlike ornamental jewelery worn by elites; they served strictly as sacred spiritual offerings. Muisca priests and commoners commissioned them to depict chieftains, warriors, or deities bearing traditional headdresses, sceptres, and weapons. Once crafted, they were deposited into sacred lakes—most famously Lake Guatavita, which inspired the legend of El Dorado—caves, and temples to communicate with the spirit world, make vows, and maintain cosmic balance.
