This set draws direct inspiration from the ancient metallurgical mastery of Colombia’s Quimbaya civilization (flourishing ca. 300–1000 CE in the middle Cauca River Valley), showcasing medallions centred on the iconic Quimbaya Cacique (chieftain or shaman) in a meditative, seated posture framed by openwork filigree borders. In pre-Hispanic indigenous culture, gold (tumbaga) was revered not merely as currency, but as a sacred, radiant manifestation of solar energy and spiritual leadership, worn by rulers to communicate prestige, divinity, and connection to the spirit world.
