Zenú Butterfly Pendant (Colgante Mariposa Zenú) (PC1010)
Created by the ancient Zenú (Sinú) culture of northern Colombia (c. 200 BCE – 1600 CE).
Originally worn as a sacred nose ornament (nariguera) clamped to the septum, now adopted, inspired and reproduced as jewelery.
The butterfly motif represents transformation and spiritual flight, while the delicate spirals honour water, fertility, and the radiant power of the sun.
