Pre-Columbian Medallion

Pre-Columbian Medallion (PC1008)

Inspired by and a reproduction of the pre-Columbian Medallion, originating between roughly 200 BCE and 1600 CE along Colombia’s Caribbean coast and river valleys, these ornaments were crafted by master indigenous goldsmiths using the lost-wax casting (cera Perdida) method, typically in tumbaga (a sacred gold-copper alloy).

Rather than simple adornment, circular pectorals and ear ornaments served as powerful spiritual talismans worn by caciques (chiefs) and shamans during civic and religious ceremonies, symbolizing authority, cosmic balance, and the divine light of the sun.
