This design is rooted in ancient Andean civilizations of Peru (such as the Chimú, Moche, and Inca), where goldsmithing was reserved for religious rituals and high nobility.

The revered Inca sun god, who was considered the supreme ancestor of the royal rulers and the source of all warmth and life.

Historically worn as large ceremonial ear flares (orejeras) or pectorals, these ornaments served as protective amulets that projected divine authority and cosmic power during sacred ceremonies.
