Product details
The Inca Sun God (PC1029)
Sun was venerated as the supreme solar deity and divine ancestor of the Inca royal dynasty.
In Inca cosmology, gold was revered as the sacred "sweat of the sun," making golden solar imagery essential for religious devotion and royal legitimacy.
Pre-Columbian Andean cultures, particularly the Chimú and Inca, crafted intricate solar disks, ear flares, and ceremonial pendants to channel divine energy. Such adornments were exclusively reserved for royalty (Sapa Inca) and high priests during major solar ceremonies like Inti Raymi.
Modern Andean artisans continue to reproduce these iconic artifacts as traditional gold jewellery celebrating Peru's pre-Columbian cultural heritage.
