TAIRONA BUTTERFLY (PH1005)
Limited Edition
This jewellery set is a modern revival replica of the famous Filigree Crescent Earrings / Pendants of Queen Ahhotep I (also associated with the treasures of King Amenhotep I and King Tutankhamun from the New Kingdom).
The original gold crescent ornaments date to the late 17th / early 18th Dynasty (around 1550 BCE) and were unearthed in 1859 by Auguste Mariette inside the pristine tomb of Queen Ahhotep at Dra Abu el-Naga, Thebes.
The centrepiece represents a stylized lunar crescent and solar ship, prominently featuring protective royal motifs including the central Eye of Horus (Wedjat for healing and protection)flanked by rearing uraeus serpents wearing solar discs.
Beadwork Tradition: While the original museum artifacts were individual ear ornaments or pendants, this modern assembled set pairs them with a necklace
The original historical gold pieces are among the celebrated treasures preserved in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
