This set is a reproduction of an ancient crescent pectoral necklace, inspired by antique Near Eastern, Egyptian Revival, and Gandharan gold metalwork.
Crescent and fan-shaped chest ornaments, originally worn by nobility and clergy as symbols of divine protection and celestial power, often combined gold filigree with lapis lazuli and carnelian. Famous original pieces from these traditions are primarily preserved today in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the National Museum in New Delhi, the British Museum in London, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
